What the heck is this “old person smell” I keep hearing about?
I’ve been hearing a lot about a soap that takes away the old person smell. I was skeptical at first, but after much investigation, this product works!
Here is information I gathered from my investigations
(I have copied some of the information from other websites):
Starting around age 40, your body begins producing 2-nonenal — a greasy compound responsible for that distinctive "old person" odor.
Persimmon soap, also known as kaki soap or kakishibu soap is a natural Japanese soap made with tannins extracted from unripe persimmon fruit (Diospyros kaki). Unlike conventional deodorant soaps that rely on synthetic fragrances and harsh chemicals, persimmon soap uses natural astringent tannins to neutralize body odor at its source.
Persimmon extract is famous in Japan (where it is known as kakishibu) for its ability to chemically bind to and neutralize stubborn body odors, specifically 2-nonenal, an age-related molecule that regular soap and water struggle to wash away.
Reasons why Persimmon soap works:
Natural Odor Elimination: Persimmon tannins don't just mask odors: they neutralize odor-causing bacteria. This makes persimmon soap particularly effective for foot odor, body odor, and underarm odor control.
Antibacterial & Antifungal Properties: The natural tannins in kakishibu provide gentle antibacterial and antifungal action, helping to keep skin clean and healthy without disrupting your skin's natural microbiome.
Safe for Sensitive Skin: Free from parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, and harsh detergents, persimmon soap is ideal for those with sensitive skin, eczema-prone skin, or chemical sensitivities.
Natural Astringent: Persimmon tannins act as a natural astringent, helping to tighten pores and control excess oil without over-drying your skin.
I hope you enjoy this soap!
